MEETING

At our next meeting on Monday, February 15,
we will review photos taken on our De Azúcar Bakeshop Field Trip, any Volunteer Event you've recently shot, and any other recent photos taken by members that they would like to share with the group.

Susan has posed a challenge for you in her message.

As usual, bring your photos on a thumb drive that contains only those photos or a folder with only those photos in it to make it easy for our projectionist.
FIFTH MONDAY
7123 Red Bug Lake Road - Oviedo

There's  a Fifth Monday in February, so we'll be meeting at 6:30 PM on February 29th for a casual dinner.

But, wait, we're trying a new location.  The February dinner will be at the Macaroni Grill on Red Bug in Oviedo.

RSVP to our email address so we can ensure there are enough places set at the table.
PLAN AHEAD #1
FARMER'S MARKET
 OVIEDO FARMER'S MARKET
SATURDAY, MARCH 5, 2016

Plan ahead!  We will be hosting a booth at the Oviedo Farmer's Market the first Saturday in March, so decide what you would like to display.

Space is a bit more restricted this year, so we are asking that members submit no more than three photographs and we will not be able to accommodate boxed prints.  All photographs should be mounted or framed and ready to hang.

As in prior years, the photographs may be offered for sale or simply displayed to "show off" your work.  Any photograph offered for sale must be marked with a price and the member must be present.

The Oviedo Farmer's Market is held the first Saturday of each month at the Lawton House.
PLAN AHEAD #2
CITY HALL GALLERY

OVIEDO CITY HALL GALLERY

Plan ahead!  We will be rotating five of the ten City Hall photos out and adding five new photographs in March.

The theme for the five new photographs is "Nature", and should represent nature as seen in the Oviedo area.  Any type of nature photography - birds, animals, plants, landscapes - will be considered if it was photographed in Seminole County and preferably in the Oviedo area.

PRESIDENT'S  MESSAGE

If you missed the presentation by George Crudo last Monday night you missed some great tips on food photography that were the perfect preparation for our field trip to De Azúcar Bakeshop yesterday.  You also missed seeing beautiful photographs that literally had some of us wishing the subjects were there for the eating.  It was inspiring to learn from someone who is so passionate about both his photography and his food.  Peter Adams said "Great photography is about depth of feeling, not depth of field."  I think everyone at the meeting will agree that George loves his subject and that feeling is expressed in his work.  Thank you George.

Our members have a wide range of photographic interests.  Some love street and event photography and if that is one of your passions join us at the Oviedo on the Park Mardi Gras Event to capture candid shots of a fun evening.  Some love music and a challenge.  If that describes you, join us at St. Luke's for a rehearsal or concert and practice your limited light photography.  If you've never tried these types of photography but would like to check it out please join us, we're always willing to share what we know and you may just discovery a new love.

We also like showing your wonderful photos off to the public so we will be changing out 5 of our City Hall Gallery photos with those fitting our nature photography theme.  We will also be exhibiting our member's work at the Oviedo Farmer's Market March 5th.

Our next meeting will be a photo review of five to seven of your event, personal and field trip images and my challenge to you this month is to also bring a photo or two where you shoot tighter or crop your subject tightly so the focus is on the main image elements.  I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Also, I hope to see you this afternoon - February 7th - at the Board Meeting at the Oviedo Public Library.  The meeting is from 1:30 to 3:30 PM, and all members are invited to attend.

Susan

EVENT PHOTOS

The City of Oviedo allows us to use the Cultural Center at Oviedo on the Park for our meetings at no cost to the club.  In exchange, our Volunteers take photos of Oviedo events and upload the photographs to the appropriate Event Gallery in  Zenfolio.  These photographs are then available to the organizations for publicity purposes.

It is important that our Volunteers upload their photographs to Zenfolio so the organization has as wide a choice of photos to use as possible.
